Bottle ground or Lauki Halwa with Jaggery
Lauki is a versatile vegetable that can be used in preparing a variety of savory and sweet dishes.
Lauki which is also as bottle squash, white gourd, trumpet gourd, lauki, doodhi, ghia and calabash gourd. Bottle gourd contains less in calories with no fat. It also contains essential vitamins and minerals like Vitamin C Vitamin B, Vitamin K, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Iron, Folate, Potassium, and Manganese.
Lauki Halwa is a classic Indian dessert which is quick and easy to make. By adding jaggery makes halwa more healthy. I also share Lauki Halwa with sugar.
Grated Lauki – 1 medium size
Grated Jaggery – 1/2 cup
Ghee – 3 tbsp
Cardamon powder – 1/2 tsp
Chopped dry fruits – 1/4 cup
Fennel seeds – 1/2 tsp
A pinch of salt
- Heat ghee in a nonstick deep kadhai and add Grated Lauki. Cook till all the water dries up on a low flame for 5-8 minutes.
- Then add grated jaggery. Stir continuously and cook until almost moisture is evaporated and mixture turns thick. It takes 5-6 minutes.
- Finally add cardamom powder, nuts, fennel seeds and a pinch of salt.
- Yummy Sugarfree Lauki Halwa is ready.
Increase or decrease the amount of jaggery according to your taste.
