Poha Kheer is easy and quick dessert. Poha is also known as beaten rice. It is made from rice flakes, are an easy-to-cook, light and nutritious snack that is often had for breakfast or brunch. Today I am sharing a dessert from poha – Poha kheer with sugar. You can also make poha kheer with gur or jaggery, Poha Jaggery Kheer.
Poha ( wash and soaked with little water for 10 minutes) – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 1/4 cup ( you can increase according to your taste )
Full fat milk – 2 cups
Dry fruits chopped – 1/4 cup
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
- Boil milk in a deep heavy kadai. When milk starts simmering, reduce the flame and add soaked poha.
- Now cook on low flame and stir after every 1 or 2 minutes.
- Cook until poha turns puffy and its granules are nicely mixed in milk. Cook for 10 minutes in low flame.
- Now add sugar and cook until sugar dissolves. It takes 5 minutes. Now finally add dry fruits and mix.
