Bhindi (Okra) with Tangy Curd Gravy

Bhindi  (Okra ) With Tangy Curd Gravy or Kadhi

Ingredients :
For Bhindi Sabzi:
Bhindi ( chopped into 1 inch )- 250 gms
Mustard oil – 1 tbsp
Salt to taste

For Curd Gravy:
Thick Curd ( Whisked ) – 1 & 1/2 cups
Oil – 1 tbsp
Besan – 5 tbsp
Tumeric – 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Grated garlic – 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds or Rai – 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek or Methi seeds – 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste

Bhindi with Tangy Gravy

Method :
For Bhindi Sabzi:
Heat oil in a pan and add Bhindi. Cook for 5 minutes. Add salt and cook until Bhindi is done.
Keep aside.

For Curd Gravy or Kadhi :

  1. Mix haldi, red chilli powder, coriander powder, besan, grated garlic and salt mix well.
  2. Heat oil in kadai and add rai, cumin seeds allow to crackle. Add methi seeds & after 15 seconds add curd mixture. Cook for 20 minutes till it becomes little thick and creamy.
  3. Now add cooked bhindi and cook for 1 minute.

Bhindi with Kadhi

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot rice or Pooris.
